Frequently Asked Questions

What are the basic requirements?

Yogasana is committed to maintaining high standards of professionalism. In determining an applicant's suitability, factors of consideration include: level of yoga experience (12 months minimum), level of health (free of any injuries), dedication (the desire to learn), commitment level (full attendance is required as is the willingness to forgo other personal or professional encumberances.)

Students who are interested in participating should bear in mind that this will be a physically and emotionally demanding programme. It will require a strong commitment and personal sacrifice. We emphasise that this programme may not be for everyone, but should you decide to endeavor on this journey, we can assure you that it will be well worth your time.

Will I be guaranteed my 200 Hour Yoga Alliance Certification upon completion of this course?

Certification is not guaranteed simply by attending the Teacher Training program. However, if you have made a full commitment and attended all your classes, participated in the workshops and practices, demonstrate proficiency and a clear understanding of your teachings, based on the lead instructor's final assessment, there should be no reason why you will not be certified. But common sense prevails here. Based on the following conditions, these warrant either student dismissal or denial of certification: use of drugs or alcohol on the property, or attending class under the influence; failure to attend sessions; behaving in a manner that may be harmful to the learning environment or other students.

What is your refund/cancellation policy?

Please visit the Tuition/Apply page for our full Terms and Conditions.

Am I required to stay at the designated resort/hotel during the program?

While you are not required to stay at the host accomodation during your training program, the residential aspect supports both the curriculum and your ability to fully participate in the rigorous schedule. This training is designed to give you time away from the day-to-day and to allow you to be in an environment that fully supports a yogic lifestyle. The immersion experience, which our teacher trainings are known for, brings your training to a depth that would otherwise be unattainable. In addition, by staying at the host accomodation, you will facilitate the development of lifelong connections with fellow students.

Is there a written test that must be passed for certification?

Your certification is not contingent upon any final written exams. Attendance, participation, desire to learn and teach, professionalism, and attitude are some of the major determining factors for whether or not a student will graduate.

Will there be any homework?

Additional reading and practice sessions outside of the daily schedule are up to the discretion of the student. The daily program is quite rigorous and therefore, we do not enforce additional required homework to be done outside of class. Afterall, it is all about balance and all students need time to relax and rejuvenate!

Will I have time to partake in other activities?

Yes, absolutely! There is one rest day every week.
